TV shows | Bicks watches

I haven't done one of these in ages! Just a little update on some TV me and Noah have watched and enjoyed recently.

Stranger Things

If you haven't watched this yet then why not!? Set in the 80s with a creepy  mystery and many a throwback reference from the title screen to the cast and everything in between, Stranger things has literally become my favourite programme in a long long time. A young boy, Will, suddenly disappears and it's up to his friends, the local sheriff and his mom to work out what exactly happened to him. We managed to consume this in just two evenings and 10 episodes really wasn't enough for me. I'm already really excited for series 2, even though I don't think they've actually filmed much of it yet. Winona Ryder was amazing in it and so were all the child actors. Honestly these kids were so believable and there was not a single moment where the acting felt flat.

Gravity Falls

We love Rick and Morty and somehow that show led us to discovering Gravity Falls! This is a children's animated show about twins Dipper and Mabel who have been sent to spend their summer with their (Gr)uncle Stan in Gravity falls. Loads of weird things happen in this place and dipper finds a journal that helps them navigate these strange events. It's funny, heartwarming and a little scifi-y too. Mabel is the best character by far with her wacky jumper collection and pet pig, Waddles. Just watch it, its great.

The People vs OJ Simpson

So a bit late to this one I must admit, but we literally just watched this one last week. It's a dramatisation that follows the trial of OJ Simpson and how each side, the defence and the prosecution, worked through the case, as well as the media circus too. This is a really famous murder case and I honestly had very little knowledge about it before watching. We watched a documentary afterwards and I couldn't get over how well the casting was done. Except for OJ and a guy called Furman everyone else looked exactly like the people they were portraying. Looks aside the acting itself was also fantastic too from all, but specifically Sarah Paulson, Sterling Brown, Courtney Vance and surprisingly David Schwimmer.

What have you been watching? What should we watch next?
